The Power of Video Marketing
Television commercials are considered the most effective advertising method – thus the high price of running one. This is not just because a lot of people watch TV – the medium itself engages more senses than radio or print and can make a greater impact on viewers.
The internet has made it possible for firms to avoid the hassle and expense of television networks by screening video commercials themselves. Your firm’s website is a channel that your clients will seek out to learn about the products or services you sell.
What should you make videos about? You can use a video to show client testimonials; a product in action; or ‘how to’ guides. The How to guides are the most popular and often the easiest. You already have a list of questions that your clients ask – and the answers that you found. Keeping your video short and too the point will get you more views.
You have a variety of hosting options.
One is to host the video on your website but this can be technically challenging and may even slow down the video load time for your views.
YouTube is the most popular site. It is easy and free to set up and has one of the largest viewerships of any website on the internet.
Amazon Web Services (a division of the online shopping behemoth) can host video without any branding, but it requires more effort to set up. Once hosted, you can promote your video through social media sites such as Facebook.
The required tools for creating videos have become more affordable with prices of digital video cameras plummeting. Simple-to-use, high-definition units can be found for $200. A good backdrop, some effective lighting and a video editing software and you have a good video.
When you are starting the process for making your video consider for a moment if you want to have the movie professionally done. For a weekly blog like we do that would be much too expensive, but for a home page video where first impressions are everything it might be worth it.
